At Fitness RxPerts we measure VO2 at specific points and the corresponding heart rates as well as calories burned at each level. Using Korr Medical’s CardioCoach we perform an exercise test where we measure how much oxygen your body is utilizing at four points:

1) At the Outset of the test

2) At your Aerobic Threshold

Where energy produced with oxygen begins to be assisted by the contributions of anaerobic respiration

3) At your Anaerobic Threshold

Where the production of lactate by anaerobic respiration exceeds the rate of removal from the blood and fatigue begins to develop in the muscles

4) At your Peak output

Where your body reaches its absolute limit in aerobic and anaerobic respiration (the ability to buffer acidity and resulting burn and fatigue become self-limiting)
